Garmin Connect broken… again

Hello,

although the status page lists GC as operational, I cannot view any page, including the Dashboard. Tested with different web browsers through different connections.

I get the following messages in the Safari console:
[Error] Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 403 (Forbidden) connect.garmin.com/.../<uid>
[Error] Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 500 (Internal Server Error) connect.garmin.com/.../<uid>
[Error] Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 404 (Not Found) https://connect.garmin.com/modern/main/js/jquery.min.map

Btw, it seems that GC is using https now.

Coincidentally mine seemed to break after pairing a F3 too. It's all working ok now though.

How many hours did it take to work again for you? Did you do anything to fix it? This is unbelievable. I don't know how it's even possible to crash the entire ecosystem after paring a device.
  • It's finally working again. If I remember right, it went offline about three days ago. I'm not yet using a F3 (but a FR920)… :)

I tweeted Garmin on Saturday but they were obviously off for the weekend. Called customer support in the Uk just after lunch today and before I had a chance to send them what they requested Garmin responded to my tweet saying that they had sorted something on their end. I had to clear the app data (on android) and reset my password (this may have just been finger trouble though) before the mobile app worked again.

As I said in a previous post, Classic still worked (mostly) on the web, and I was still able to sync fine from the mobile app despite not being able to see my activities.
  • OK..... issues fixed!

I found that deleteing the activitiy that seemed corrupt has allowed me access to my account and I can now access the OIS app, log in and continue on!

I have 'no idea' at all how my last riding activity went nuts, I lost all my sensors at one point and my GPS coords etc were all over the place.

I have downgraded the 3.03 firmware to 2.73 on the 920XT, didnt need to touch anything on the 810 and this mornings ride showed noraml sensor usage and data was synced with no isse at all to GC plus I was able to use the app again.

Sad I didnt here anything at all from Garmin Support and had to figure it out myself, great product but lousy customer service.

Hope this helps others who are having the same issue.

    Hi everybody,

I have the same issue as you described. Tried clearing cache, changing browser, changing computer ... nothing worked.
But I just changed my "Display Name" ... and it worked!!!!

    1. In the "old" Connect dashboard, go to your "Settings" (upper right corner, clic on your name just beside the link to switch to the modern view).
    2. In the "Connect Profile" tab, check your "Display Name". Mine was the same as my "Full Name". But Connect don't appreciate blanks in the Display Name.
    3. Change your Display Name to a name without blanks (for example, replace by underscores).
    4. Save it (at the end of the page).
    5. Enjoy the modern view back again ... and activities are back on your mobile app.

Seems that Garmin do an update query on some profiles and replaced the value of "display name" by the value of "full name". I'm pretty sure that my display name was "Alain_VandeMaele" before becoming "Alain Van de Maele".

    Regards,
    Alain

+1 to Alain! I changed my display name to remove the space and it's working like a charm again!

  • Garmin connect login broken - 403 message

Having login problems for Garmin connect account for days now. Unfortunately Alain's procedure is not working because the problem is not my Display name, but my actual account name according to Dutch helpdesk.
I have a hashtag (#) in my username and that's causing the problem according to helpdesk. Already have this account for a few years now without any issues so why it's starting now...?

Dutch helpdesk says they can't solve this problem because it needs to be solved by US helpdesk. Meanwhile this has taken a small week now without any notice on how long it's still going to take:mad:

Anyone has a suggestion how to solve this?
