Garmin Connect Backup to Garmin Edge 1000?

I purchased an Edge 1000 in December and have had to do a Master reset. I followed the instructions and back up up my files including the "total" file. However, once I powered up my device, all of my totals are showing zero. That said, Garmin connect shows the 28 activities that I have done since getting the new garmin. My question is: is there a way to get those totals to show on my Garmin device itself, under the same activity profile? Many thanks

You returned the backed up files to your 1000 to the proper folders? Be very sure the name and extension of the file was not changed from the original.

Yes...exactly. Copied them on my desktop first and then copied back into Garmin folder
