Blu Studio 5.0 C compatibility with Vivosmart

Hello,

According to specs by manufacturer this phone has Bluetooth 4.0 and it runs Android 4.4 out of the box (just upgrades to 4.4.2.

The OS pairs with my Vivosmart without issue - but for some reason Garmin Connect refuses to pair. I would think the actual Bluetooth pair in would be handed off to operating system to ensure the greatest compatibility?

Would like to know if anyone else out there has been able to get this to work or if I need to look for a new activity tracker.

Actually, the BT mode used is a special mode called "Bluetooth Low Energy", and you shouldn't be pairing with the phone's BT, but only from within GC.

If you drop the phone's BT pairing and try pairing in the GC app, what happens?

For some reason when I just tried it worked! Hooray!

You were right that you can't pair with the OS but must have it paired in Connect. I think it may have helped that I did have the device paired with my Connect account (via an old Samsung Galaxy S3 I had around).

Just glad it is working now - I love my Vivosmart.
