Steps not syncing to Connect

So I have had my Garmin since Christmas - a Forerunner 15 - and I like the step tracker, the challenges, et al. Since last Thursday anytime I sync my watch after midnight for that day the steps will not go garmin connect. If I sync during the day it takes that sync and I can sync anytime after, but it will not update the say with the correct totals for the day. I al REALLY frustrated by this - I had several really great days (like a 15K) that I was keen to save and it will not show the data. The weird thing is my watch's history still shows all that info for the totals! Is there something I am missing? I don't think it has always been like this, right?
thanks!!

Frustrating indeed. I too have been waiting for the solution to this issue for quite some time now, and I'm 99% certain that the current Software Version 2.40.00 is the culprit. My January data were all fine and I was using the original software version 2.20.00 that came with my FR15, but when I updated it to 2.40.00 at the start of this month I began to experience the same issues the OP and the rest were having. Good thing the saved activities that I did were intact and gets uploaded to GC fine.

Garmin the company gets high marks on the way they come up with great gadgets that fit anyone's active lifestyle, but they get 2 THUMBS DOWN when it comes to addressing promptly the issues their customers are having and have lodged complaint against already. Their Development Support Team needs to get their butts lighted with fire to speed things up.

UPDATE: Called the Garmin Technical Support Hotline around 11:30am US EST and to be fair, my call was handled by an accommodating and professional lady. Took note of the nature of my call, and added it to the opened ticket that they have for me on their database. Sadly, her response was virtually the same as what I got when I made my first call last week, that is, their Technical Team is working on it but there's no timetable as to when this will be addressed. Not happy with it personally. So what I did now was to power off my FR15 then put it in my drawer. I'm going to take it out only when I'll be doing a run, a walk or a ride and I want to record it. What's the use of having to wear it daily as what this company wants us to do for the sake of fitness if the data I'll be seeing in GC is inconsistent and/or missing? Right now I paid for a Forerunner 15 but what I have at this time is a Forerunner 10. Amazing!

    Me too.

I am in Europe and have started getting this issue since upgrading to v2.40: some days it uploads, others it doesn't.

Having contacted Garmin they say they are aware of the problem and trying to sort it. Everyone...start holding your breath!
  • Hi,

I had the same problem and I think that I have managed to fix it (I hope so at least ). I did the following workaround:

    - I connected the FR15 to the PC
    - I opened from explorer the following folder GARMIN/MONITOR
    - I realized that when everything worked fine, the watch created one .FIT file per day either at 0:00 or whenever I synchronized the watch. However, the watch had stopped creating new files. Instead of that there was only one file corresponding to the current day.
    - I deleted all the .FIT files except the latest one (the one corresponding to the current date) and voila, everything ok again

I don't know if there is a problem related to the number of files the device can manage in that folder or if it should have deleted them automatically.
Anyway, as I said, this worked for me and I hope it does the same for you.

Upgrade now to the newly-released Software Ver. 2.50.00.

Having the same issue. Seems like starting February 2015, daily steps are not being synced every single day. I upgraded to 2.5 and it did not solve the problem.
