Established routes

Just got an Edge 1000. Is there someplace (on the Web...Garmin connect or not) where routes are placed for people to download and used? Just wondering 'cause I saw that established routes can be downloaded and used on a device.

Hello Fklauber,
That link from Travis is for Courses but you can also search for and download Activities in GPX format and put them in your 1000.
What works best for me is to first use Google Earth and go to the area I want to search and get lat & long in decimal degrees ie. dd.ddddd, ddd.ddddd Then open Connect > Explore > Activities > enter lat & long in the Starting Near window > Show Filters > Pick Activity Type > Time Period pick Last 365 Days > Distance if you want just long or just short > Search
If you get nothing then use the hand and move the map and search again.
If you get activities then scroll thru to find one that looks promising and RIGHT click > Open in New Tab > Look for more and repeat RIGHT click until you have 5 or 6 tabs or more.
Click a tab and if the track looks good then click > Export > GPX > close that tab and repeat the next tab. You will end up with the GPX files in a folder named Downloads.
I open each GPX file in BaseCamp with my device connected so I can see what the track looks like on the map in my device. If it looks good then I filter that track using distance set on 35 feet because that is what works for me. :o
Then I have a folder named "Tracks by Others" and I save that filtered track with a new short name based on where it starts like SwtWtrBridge.gpx or SDzoo.gpx etc.
I use an Edge705 and I put those filtered tracks in the GPX folder in the 705. You will have to find out where to put them in your 1000 and how to navigate them.
