File batch import

I'd be surprised if this hasn't been requested before.

I thought I might like to give Garmin Connect a try - I currently just use Strava.

I have about 300 backed up .FIT files I want to import into 'Connect' before I can realistically use it.

I am NOT going to import each file one by one. Implementing a batch import is technically simple (you just need to implement a loop).

Ping me back when it's available please. 'Connect' is unusable for me without it.
  • FYI, you can use tapiriik to sync data between Garmin Connect and Strava (and other services).

Without knowing which device you have (you failed to mention it), you could copy the files back to it, and allow GC to upload them automatically (they'll all be 'new'), the next time you connect to it.

    Still waiting

Thank you for the responses. I'm not looking for workarounds - I really can't be @rsed with them but I do appreciate you taking the trouble to let me know what they are. If Garmin want people to use Connect then they have to make it usable. And it doesn't appear that it is yet as batch imports still haven't been implemented. I just logged on to take a look - as I said before I won't be back for another few months to see if it has again.

(also strangely I seem to have had to change my username/alias when I logged in to this forum since 'mine' "has already been taken" (doh! yeah - by ME!) - so I don't know whether this post will appear as "projexe" or "projexesrh"! This seems another example where Garmin developers seem to be a bunch of coding rejects who can't seem to get anything working correctly).

Get your act together, Garmin. You wanted to implement an app that would be a Strava-killer (why else would you copy so much of Strava's work) - so far every time I've attempted to use Connect it's been a let-down.
