No Map available from older workouts

Looking at my archived files to find a route I did in 2008 but no map available
http://connect.garmin.com/activity/14395571
Any thoughts ?
  • If you click on Save as course you see the map ...

Is that supposed to be an official solution? To save all our old activities as courses?! This issue was reported months ago and it still hasn't been sorted out!
  • Nothing I say is an 'official solution', just offering it as a way for you to see the map. Note you don't actually have to save it.

Incidentally I've just tried and it works perfectly in Modern ... maybe you should switch since Classic is unlikely to be updated.

Ok, but what is the current status of this issue? I reported on it in June 2014, and I wasn't the first person to do so. 7 months on and it still hasn't been resolved, this is incompetence on a grand scale!

Weird, I see a map. Canary Islands, north coast of the northernmost island, "Boca de" something obscured by the start/stop icons, a few km from Tinajo, in both Classic and Modern.

Some of my own oldest GC activities don't show a map, or show Olathe, Kansas, Garmin's headquarters, which amounts to the same thing, for example http://connect.garmin.com/modern/activity/3351569. But some of them do have maps, like the very oldest http://connect.garmin.com/modern/activity/8722510. Also weird.

As indicated it seems to work so I suspect you should look at your setup. Perhaps something on your PC is blocking it.

As indicated by who? There's nothing wrong with my setup. I'm not sure why you want to be an apologist for this shambles. Or why you think 'seems to' is good enough.

As SME_Shane said in this post, the Garmin team are aware of the issue. But they're obviously not up to or willing to resolve it.
  • Well as indicated by SCHINDER it's working for him in both Modern and Classic, and for me in Modern so if not working for you maybe there is an issue with your setup. At least it's worth you considering it.

Even if there is still a bug in Classic that is preventing the map in your case from displaying it's working in Modern, have you tried that? Classic is still available but is due to be phased out. I can't see Garmin therefore investing any more resources into it so any bug is likely to remain until Classic disappears completely.
