Can I Add a Location to a Stationary Activity?

I do quite a bit of travelling with my job, so often find myself on a treadmill or exercise bike in a hotel gym. I'm happy with how to record these indoor (non-GPS) activities on my fenix 2, but is there a way of manually adding a single location to these activities afterwards in Garmin Connect? Sure, I can put in the description where I was, but a nice red dot on a map would be so much nicer!

I'm guessing if there's not a direct way to do it in GC, there might be a way of adding a single GPS location in the .fit file, but I wouldn't have a clue where to start...
  • Can't you just edit the name of the activity in GC after you sync?
  • I think the only way would be to put the GPS on

Thanks, but that's not what I'm asking. I'm asking if I can add a single GPS location into the data itself so when viewing the activity in GC or Strava it would show a map with a single location marked where it would normally show the route taken for a GPS tracked activity.

Unfortunately even if I could get GPS reception it would jump around so much as to render my run stats useless
  • I've used my 610 in the gym before to record a session and it does usually find a signal eventually. Do you use a footpod to record the distance for the runs in the gym - if not then you could enter the distance manually against the activity. If you are using footpod then depending on your device you can set the distance/speed etc to be taken from footpod rather than GPS.

Yeah, I use a footpod with my fenix 2 so had thought of that, but a lot of hotels seem to stick their gyms in the basement (In the hotel I'm at now it's floor -2) so it's not going to pick up any signal buried down there
