Problems with setup on iPhone 4

I have been so impressed with my own Vivofit that I bought one for my husband and want to set it us using his iPhone 4. However, when I try to sign in from the app that I've downloaded onto his phone, I receive the message "Sign in Failed ... You don't have a display name set. Go to connect. garmin.com to set your display name before using the app." When I click the "Set Now" link, I'm taken to the garmin website but cannot find anywhere that allows me to set a display name. Can anyone help me please? Because I can't pair / sync the phone to be used unless this is done. Thank you.
