Unable to load from Garmin devices (810 and 510)

I have two devices (and two accounts - mine and my daughters) I'm trying to load data from, for workouts done today. The upload process just hangs. When I go to load the FIT files from either device using the manual process (this worked as of this Thursday), I get an unknown error message. I tried loading two different computers and got the same error. I also tried loading them to Strava and they loaded, so it appears there is something going on with connect.
