Step Goal of 0 in Report

For the most part, reports are working fine for me. I do have this niggling issue that comes up from time to time but has now happened for the last 2 days in a row. Although my daily step widget shows my steps and goals properly, my steps report shows a goal of 0 for both yesterday and today.

Has anyone else encountered this?
  • Here ya go! http://www.garmin.com/us/support/

(BTW, I switched to auto-goal again a few days back, and the only editing I did was to add gear to activities, and that seemed to give me 0 step goals in the report, but I didn't really dig into it, and now have switched back to a fixed goal.)
  • I logged a support ticket. We'll see what happens.

Interestingly, I switched to manual goal yesterday until I had met the goal for the day. Then I switched back to auto. Rather than adjust the setting on my PC as I usually do, yesterday, I did it in Mobile Connect. The result is that my goal for today is exactly the same as yesterday's goal. It didn't change by even 1 step. I had only exceeded yesterday's goal by 190 steps - not much so I don't know if that's why.
  • Well,

Someone from Garmin called me within minutes of my logging a support ticket.

I took her through the issue and she was able to replicate it at her end. The minute she adjusted her stride length, her goal went to 0. Then I took her through what happens when you switch to manual and then back to autogoal. Jim, I also mentioned that it happened to you when edited gear in an activity but she wasn't able to replicate that at her end.

I know some people have support tickets logged for their problems but I'm just glad that I was able to do more than just complain in a vague way. By feeding her enough info so that she could replicate it at her end, I am optimistic that this will get fixed very soon.
  • Often, one of the hardest things for support/developers to do is to reproduce a problem. But if the problem can be reproduced by them, fixing it may not be that difficult! Good job Phil!
  • The same applies to doctors and their patients symptoms. Some people on the forum say they feel abandoned by support but not me. I never expected such a quick response - by phone no less.
