Setting gear used on a run

I am alternating shoes on runs and am looking for a quick and easy way to set the shoes (gear) I used on that run. Currently I sync my run via the iPhone app and it would ideal if there was an option to set the gear via iPhone app. It appears
currently the only way to set gear is to log into the website and set the gear by editing the activity as its not showing on the quick edit either.
Am I missing something? Is this already planned functionality for the iPhone app?

    You're not missing anything Trevor.

The Garmin devices don't have a means of tracking gear. Gear tracking only happens in Garmin Connect. So it has to be mostly manual... for now. To save some manual editing, simply choose a default for the primary activities and, as you noted, manually update the gear when you run in the non-default pair. (I have quite a few pairs of shoes to track).

Things have improved. Not so long ago, there was no gear tracking. At least we have something now.

For Garmin... many of the current watches (e.g. 920xt) allow you to create profiles. It would be nice if each profile could have its own default gear. Garmin Connect would then need to upload profile information to associate the gear with it.

    Matt.
