I have Garmin nüvi 760 4.3-Inch GPS Automobile Navigator, purchased in 2009. I have vehicle power cable (came with the GPS) that connects the vehicle suction cup mount to the charger outlet in car. So far I have used it for driving directions while charging. Recently the power cable broke and bought the new cable (not Garmin. Garmin product is $28 while non-Garmin product is half the price). When I used the cable, it is only charging and I couldn't navigate the map. I have to disconnect the cable to use the map. Because of this, I couldn't use the GPS for long time.
In some forums, it is mentioned that non-Garmin product may cause this, but I don't want to buy the product unless I know it for sure. Can someone please suggest a solution?
