Incorrect distance and speed

Hey,

since a couple of weeks I have an issue when importing data from my Oregon 500 into Garmin Connect.

When uploaded, the distance is incorrect. when I did an 80km ride it shows only 0.8km. On teh device itself teh distance is shwon correctly and also when exported to Strava everything seems fine.

My apologies for double-posting: before the weekend I noticed a thread on this but I cannot retrace in anymore...

Can someone help me (or redirect my to the correct thread?

Thanks!

This error exists for a month or so now. It seems to affect every manual file upload. The thread you mentioned somehow disappeared, maybe to much critics and frustration in it? A moderater has promised to investigate on this (censorship?).

Anyway, we all don't know whats so difficult for a software company to multiply by 100 ...

With an Edge 500 you should use the "Garmin Express" Software. Distances are correct then.

I've got thesame issue as can be seen on this track: http://connect.garmin.com/modern/activity/677758776

Garmin express in addition doesnt syncronize when connecting so I need to upload manually.
  • If you're using Express to synchronise post your problem in the Express forum. Uploading manually results in the incorrect distance etc error. When that will be fixed I don't know.

I'm starting to believe that Garmin has no interest in fixing this problem at all. Seriously, how hard can it be to correct a divide by 1000 error?
  • I am also getting that feeling - they give a damn for this GPX upload functionality (and is actually showing us - their customers, the finger by the way they are treating us), otherwise it would have been on the radar with better communication etc.

Instead the main GPX thread disappears with some lame excuse to rather consider BC?
  • I also have the same problem since 1 month with my Monatana 600.
Can anyone from Garmin give some information about the progress of finding a solution?

I am having the very same issue. I manually upload files from my Dakota 20 and now GC is unable to calculate Distance, Average Speed, and Moving Time. On top of this, the Timing Chart (i.e., speed vs time) is not correctly displayed. Moreover, the files that I uploaded more than a couple of months ago that USED to diplay the Timing Chart correctly, now manifest the same errors. For older files, though, Distance, Average Speed, and Moving Time are still fine. Please try to fix the problem.

The same problem with my etrex 30. With etrex we only have the possibilitiy to upload de gpx manually to Garmin Connect. I expect a rapid solution from garmin team.

    Thank you
