After not being able to do anything for two weeks I bid you farewell. I will never buy one of your products again.

I too am getting very close to being in the same boat.... no response via twitter or via email. GPX upload doesn't give me distance. And why on earth does the Garmin Express not auto upload from Oregon 450?!!!

    Me, too!

Furthermore, we had a long thread here about the weird distance problem https://forums.garmin.com/showthread.php?176681-GPX-Activities-uploaded-no-longer-have-length-distance&p=481909#post481909 but the moderators of this forum have deleted this thread completely!! And probably will do the same with this one.

Shame on you! Is this the way to cope with customer feedback? Of course there were a lot of frustrated user postings, but you cannot delete frustration by deleting threads!

Because it doesn't. Connect is mainly for fitness devices, it was never intended to auto sync with handhelds.

Basecamp is really what you should be using, and you'll get distance there.

Having said that the issue of distance with Connect is, so I understand, due to be corrected.

I don't believe any moderator has deleted this thread. I'll look into it.

Thread Appears to be deleted for me!

Also there is no reason why the Oregon can't be used as a fitness device and would be an easy feature to turn on. Even as an option.
  • Two major issues for me, when uploading a GPX file, the distance is showing 0.01km. Second, is I cant search for previous activities.
These have been issues since before Christmas. Garmin just needs to send an email to us, their customers, and let us know they are onto it and an eta of when the issues are going to be fixed.
Garmin use to have the best interface and app for tracking running. Good reporting but now it has gone to pot since the upgrade to the web site.

Just a bit of communication is all that is needed to buy Garmin some time with their users.

I too am researching other options. I currently have a very expensive paper weight. I can see a 24 hour issue, but i haven't not been able to connect/upload my forerunner 310XT since Jan 6th. This is completely unacceptable. and the lack of communication from Garmin is pathetic. This is NOT how you keep customers. And please, don't tell me it will be fixed. Tell me WHEN it will be fixed.

Does anyone know how to download fitness data from Connect? I'd like to get my several years worth of data before it goes up in smoke!
  • You can use tapiriik to sync to other sites or strava.com can automatically sync.

    CORRECT!
That is how I used it most of the time for running and cycling, via the GPX upload. Well that was until ~mid Dec. But strangely enough the GPX thread disappeared, but it wasn't deleted .

AND NO - BC is NOT a replacement for GC!
