    Hi,

I have a similar problem by the sounds of it....

I have been unable to sync my Fenix 2 to the Garmin Connect Android app via Bluetooth for over 10 days now. I have done 4 activities over this time and every time I try and sync to the app I get the green ‘Sync Complete’ message but no new activity is present on the connect mobile app (or on the garmin connect website for that matter).
On each occasion I have tried the following before eventually syncing over USB:
Un-pair and pair fenix 2 and phone numerous times (both through the garmin app and through the phone Bluetooth settings)
    Restart phone
    Restart Fenix 2
    Un-pair / pair
Is there something else I can try or is there a known issue with this at the moment (nothing specifically related to this on the status page)?
I have always found the syncing to be a bit temperamental however previously if I had an issue syncing I would get a ‘Sync failed’ error which would typically be resolved by pairing and unpairing and trying again (sometimes would take 3 or 4 times to actually work) however the difference this time is that it believes the sync to have been successful but there is no data there.

    Note:
My Garmin Fenix 2 has the latest software and firmware (I checked Garmin Express yesterday to confirm but don't know how to get the firmware / software versions from the watch itself) and the app is updated to the latest version.
I am using a Samsung Galaxy S4 with Android version 4.4.2

I've emailed Garmin Support but if anyone has any ideas I'd be happy to try them?

    Cheers,
    Andy
  • I have the same problem and have had it since an update of the Connect app in early January. It is embarrassing that Garmin still have not resolved this issue!

However, I have figured out a "workaround" that works for me. I start syncing my Fenix 2 by pressing Sync on the Menu. It connects to the Connect app, and after a very short while the Fenix 2 says Sync complete or Connected. Then I wakeup my Samsung S5 (the phone must be in standby mode/screen off) and start the Connect app and then the sync starts all over again, but this time the data are transferred.

    Hi Pleiner

how much time does it take to synch from Fenix 2 to Conn app? I've try the same "workaround" (having Samsung S5), but it has stated synch again but with the same result (=none upload any activities)
  • I'm using fenix and facing this problem since Jan 15. Forget about syncing the activities via BT to Garmin Connect app, the activities remain unseen after sync is completed.

What I did is syncing via Garmin Express by connecting my fenix via usb cable, it's annoying but it works!

Garmin team is failing me in their response and capability in fixing issues!

I have the same problem since March 2015. Have explored all possible avenues, in vain. Have also posted a message on this site. Did not even had the courtesy of an answer. The Swiss distributor for Garmin suggested a hard reset and if unsuccessful, it was suggested to send the device to them with the usual costs involved. it is Garmin's problem, why should I pay for their shortcomings?
  • Hello

This is an old post but I found a Workaround.  Beside doing a Complete reset and taking the risk of losing all of your history:

    - I hooked my Garmin to my laptop. This allowed it to behave like a thumbdrive.

    - Then I logged into the Garmin Connect  website

    - used the Import Data option. It asks you to Browse for the file

    - I browsed to Garmin device >Garmin >Activity

    - I selected all of the data files I wanted to Import.

    - Completed Instantly

  • , yes thanks for that. Also mentioned in the support documents: How Do I Manually Upload an Activity I Recorded to Garmin Connect?

I guess we can close this thread now. Slight smile
