Garmin Connect > Activity > Keyword: search is not working

Hi,

Can anyone tell me why I am not able to find my workout in "Activity" page using "keyword:" search option. It's showing an error message says "There was an internal error while searching for activities".
  • As a long-time Garmin user, I wanted to bump this thread as a warning to future potential customers. Losing the ability to search through my own activities is just one of the many issues which Garmin has failed to address. Another example of Garmin's disregard for their customers is shown in the bug that I and others ">reported">reported in early December - activities previously uploaded are randomly becoming corrupted, so we can no longer export a working TCX or GPX file.     I reported the bug directly to Garmin at that time, and after a half-dozen or so frustrating attempts to get their tech support folks to duplicate the problem, finally received acknowledgement that the bug was in the hands of developers and that I would be hearing back from them soon. Not only did Garmin acknowledge that the bug existed, I was able to supply my original TCX file (un-corrupted) for them to compare their non-broken copy on their own servers. After the initial handoff to developers I didn't hear back from Garmin, so I waited about a month through the year-end holidays to inquire about this bug. I received this reply in late January:

    Thank you for contacting Garmin International. I am happy to continue assisting you today.

    Thank you for reaching out in regards to the case we have created regarding your issue. At this time, we are still currently researching this issue. Your case has been added to a pre-existing case regarding this issue, along with any other users that may have reported this problem, and we are working towards a resolution. We thank you for your continued patience regarding the matter.

    There has been no further communication from Garmin. Another month has passed. The bug still exists.

    Based on my several years of using Garmin's products, I have personally found there is no reason to expect software support from Garmin. Don't get long-time Garmin users started on the abandonment of MapSource in favor of BaseCamp. Or their abandonment of Garmin Training Center for local backup of TCX/GPX files. I wouldn't recommend Garmin software to any friends and I would strongly urge folks not to use Garmin's cloud as the sole repository of their GPS logs. There's nothing wrong with uploading the activity files from your device and hoping for the best, but do make a copy of your data elsewhere because Garmin is not a trusted caretaker of your data.

    wow it is fixed, but only this week and ive been trying to get an answer since Jan and its now 21/04/15. They denied all along that they had heard of anybody else reporting the issue to them apart from me, and haven't got back to my logged faults telling me its fixed.

    Tried with the same case, all uppercase, all lowercase ... no way.

    What a shame, point simple.

    @garmin do you need beta testers, programmers, or both?

    I just came to ask the same question, turns out I'm not the only one unable to use the activity search. Please fix this, Garmin!
