Garmin Connect Sync problem with 920XT - Cross country skying activity

My 920XT won't sync with Garmin Connect an cross country skying activity recorded. Garmin Connect keeps saying that there has been an error with the servers of Garmin - pls try again...
I have tried to delete the .FIT file from the watch but when sync, the problem still pops up...
Anyone knows how to solve this ? I have already updated the activity using BaseCamp so I don't care about the activity itself and would just like to get rid of the error message everytime I sync the watch.
Many thanks
A.
  • What are you using to sync? If Garmin Express, look for fit files in subfolders of "C:\ProgramData\Garmin\Core Update Service\Sync\_deviceid_\Upload\".
  • Thanks Rastikw. I don't have such \Sync\ folder on my computer. I got rid of the pb by copying again the .fit file on the watch and delete it from the watch menu - I should have probably started from there. I hope I have not polluted/corrupted some files of the watch... Thansk again.

Hi RASTIKW, I too have problems with syncing 920XT, and searched my pc, in described folder I have two subfolders - FIT_TYPE_4 and FIT_TYPE_32, both of them containing several .FIT files. Do I understand it right that I should delete both of those subfolders and all therein included .FIT folders?

    Thanks

  • You need to move/remove only the fit files.
If you're sure you've uploaded everything manually, you can delete them. Otherwise I would only move them away and try to upload them manually.
I don't know how will Express behave - it may download them from the watch again, if they are still there. If so, you'll have to delete them there too.
Probably only one of them is making problems, so may try (re)move only the oldest file.
FIT_TYPE_32 probably contains only activity tracker data (I don't use it, so I cannot confirm, as this type in not the currect ANT+ specification), so those should be OK.

Thanks a lot. However, although after i removed all files (both TYPE_4 and TYPE_32) I was able to connect to GE once, next attempt was not successful again((( And now folders are empty ((( So it seems I will just follow the recommendations of wait for a certain time as per forums here, or I will just return watches to the dealer.
  • I'm not using GE too often, but does the sync via wifi or BT work?
