Adding new shoes to "Gear" but not adding the distance

Hi,

Today I added some shoes that I bought and started using at the end of July 2014 and pressed OK when it asked if I'd like to use these shoes from that date to present. All of my runs that I've done since this date say that I have used these shoes, but when I go on the gear page, next to the shoes it didn't say how many kms I'd done with them. I edited them and added a max distance of 800km - now it just says 0 of 800km. Please help. Thanks.

Yesterday I traveled 50.17 km MTB , gpx sent to Garmin Connect, which recorded 0.05 kilometers as if divide the distance traveled for 1000.
Solutions???

same here. I don't even see where the mileage is supposed to be. I'm looking at the gear page and I can see my shoes, but it just says 112 activities. No km. Am I in the right spot?

I'd like to see Equipment (shoes) hold more basic info: initial purchase date, initial mileage (if I've already put miles on shoes before entering them), what I paid for the shoes, and size. RunningAhead allows all of this info and then calculates the cost/mile as I use them, *reliably* tracks exact mileage for all my current shoes, retires any I wish to, shows me the size I purchased in case I want to buy that brand again after getting rid of them, etc. Much more information with just a bit of effort to allow the input. As it is, all my current shoes are meaningless in Garmin because I can't enter their current mileages.

@janmacg Yes, that's true, you cannot insert a starting mileage for your gear. That needs to be added as an option. Fortunately I've labeled all my activities with shoe data so I'm updating those activities. I'm not going back to 2004, but just the activities for shoes that I'm still using.

Go to the full gear page on the GC modern site http://connect.garmin.com/modern/gear
You should see all your totals there, including distance.
