MyFitnessPal sync still broken

The *fix* was supposedly deployed 12/31 according to the sticky post, however I am still having sync issues. I still cannot sync manually to MyFitnessPal from the Garmin Connect website. From the app I can open myfitnesspal to enter things, however it will never show up on the dashboard in garmin connect. If I hit sync now it just spins and never syncs.
  • mfp say they have issues their end, so it's not simply a Garmin issue as mfp has also had problems with other sites. I do know both sides are trying to resolve it. Sometimes you have to be patient ....

Yes that is a fair point. However it is the wider issue with Garmin and software quality that I was referring to.

Also please stop asking us to be patient. Without any indication of what is actually been done (what exactly is "clearing the backlog" - because during that period I have seen new problems arise that don't appear to relate to that sort of process?) it is disengeniuos - these services have been paid for through the purchase of the products and we can expect a certain level of service and a timeframe for completion that is measured in hours rather than weeks. I run a software company I know that can be hard to predict and i know that these things happen, but I also know some companies handle them much better than others. Garmin are not doing a great job in their release quality and customer service from my viewpoint.
  • Well OK but I've been a Garmin user for many years. I currently own 5 devices, and have rarely had an issue .... this current problem with Connect is unprecedented, certainly in the time I've been using Garmins. Many of those I've seen complaining about 'Garmin' (both on these forums and elsewhere) turn out to have issues completely outside Garmin's control. That's not to say users don't have genuine issues, they do, but often it's not caused by Garmin. Out of the millions of Garmin users, some struggling to make their devices work is clearly likely ... it's no different on TomTom, Apple, Sony etc forums.

I think you may have a rose tinted view there. I too use many garmin devices: Edge 810, 1000, Fenix 2, Fenix 2 S/E, 920xt - all have had some pretty serious software issues. I don't need to delve into them just take a look at the forums. These aren't one off issues that only some users have - everyone has them, only some of the users complain about them!

Apple software is of a much much higher quality than Garmin - of course they have issues, but I have not experienced anything like the frustration with their products (there are too many Apple products I have owned to mention here).

I have many other suppliers hardware too - and of course some of it is poor, some excellent. Wahoo is pretty good, Microsoft can be pretty bad for example, but it doesn't matter - Garmin can do better than this - they have good hardware and are been let down by poor software and customer support. That is my point. I still like their stuff I am just hoping they can improve in these areas; and if they don't I suspect the next few years will bring a lot of changes in this market...
  • I think that when you go into the realms of MyFitnessPal its inevitiable users will go a bit mental when their expensive gear does not contribute to their weight loss regime as expected.

By it's nature MFP is an obsessive process, that is used on a daily basis and to it's users every single calorie counts!

Finding I am getting multiple activity entries from MFP created into GC, but often does not transfer calorific intake into GC from MFP. Very tired of this, system seems a bit flaky at best, starting to wish I had bought a competitor's tracker insteag. Come of guys this is simply not good enough!

Just adding to this post. MFP transfer of calories to Garmin Connect hasn't worked for me for about 2 weeks, and Garmin Connect transfer of activities to MFP hasn't been working for about 3 days. In addition, my Daily Activity, even though syncing with my phone app, is not appearing on Garmin Connect website (either version: Classic and New). So, it appears Garmin has some major issues as well as MFP. Why is there no announcement on "We are working on this"? Or did I miss a sticky post saying that?

My link is also busted between Garmin Connect and MFP. No synch since 1/2/14 )now 48 hrs)

Update my synch still not working for columned calories from MYP (MyFitnessPAl) to Garmin connect. Now 48 hrs not working. Of interest is that Apple Health app on my iPhone is updating from MFP so it points to a Garmin problem of a broken link
