pairing vivosmart with iphone 4s with bluetooth

Got my vivosmart yesterday and downloaded Garmin connect onto iPhone 4s but it refuses to pair although I know Bluetooth on my phone works as it pairs with my carphone

Did you pair with the phone diretly or using Connect? You need to use Connect to pair.
