Garmin 405 fails to upload to garmin express

I love my garmin 405- however i find it really annoying when it fails to upload data to garmin connect continiously. Any ideas on this fix? It's on and off- sometimes it uploads ok, most of the time it fails to upload, and I have checked all the options on the watch as well as the garmin connect site. I am puzzled here.
