Vivo Smart - Daily steps give excessive calories used

I have a new vivosmart - Why does my daily step count of 4000 steps say I've used 3500 calories doing this? Yesterday was much more reasonable.

Any ideas on what could cause this & how to fix?

    It shows your activity calories as well as those your body burns by "just being alive", based on your BMR. You BMR is based on things like your weight. What are your "BMR calories"?
