Garmin 110 reverting to clock during my runs?

Okay, this may seem like a silly question, but if I'm at the starting line of a race with my timer ready to go on my Garmin, and it starts to count down to screen saver mode, which button do I push to get back to the timer and ready to go?
I usually hit lap/reset, but the last few races my watch has reverted to regular clock mode within a mile of starting the run. It only happens when I am waiting too long to hit start after finding the satellite, and the watch starts counting down.
Am I doing something wrong to get back to 00.00?
  • Sounds like the "auto power down" function to me. I don't have a 110, but my edge500 will do that after so many minutes of inactivity when the timer is not started. The edge500 has a setup feature to enable/disable that, but I like having it enabled. If yours behaves as mine, then pushing any button stops the countdown. Nor do you have to be at the page displaying the timer to start the timer.

Thank you! I haven't found a way to disable it on the 110, I'll have to look again to see if that is an option. Pushing any button does stop the countdown, but I'm not sure why the Garmin then goes back to a regular clock and stops recording my run data within a mile or so of starting my run. My runs are no longer being recorded once it reverts to a regular watch so I have to reset it, wait for satellites, and start mileage, etc., all over again in the middle of a run.
  • Well that doesn't sound correct at all. But I think there may be some misunderstanding of the fuctions and buttons. It would be best if you ask in the forerunner 110 sub-forum as you'd get people there that are most familiar with the FR110. There may still be someone that comes up with an answer here.

This "trouble-shooting" sub-forum is really for issues with the Garmin Connect website and many people knowledgeable with the devices may never browse here as the Garmin Connect sub-forums really get cluttered up with spam and just too many other posts to sort through.
