Overlapping calorie counts

I've been using my forerunner 220 for a few months now, and over the holidays added a vivofit in order to supplement my activities and keep me motivated on those days where its too late to run when I get home from work and I need that little extra motivation to keep me off the couch for the evening.

Today was the first day I utilized the two devices at the same time during my run. I had grown tired of not meeting my step count goal when I run, but now I'm having an even bigger issue. The calories burned overlap and instead of burning 633 calories on my run, I burned 1100 calories. This also transferred to my fitness pal when I synced up.

As much as I like getting credit for doing double the work, its a bit of a pain to have to edit my fitness pal each time I sync up. Is there anyway through connect to correct this or should I just sacrifice my step count/activity level?

It does seem strange-since the timestamps are identical-that connect wouldn't negate the calories automatically. Or maybe it does and its only myfitnesspal that doesn't distinguish and I'm just reading it wrong. Anybody else have this trouble and solve it?
