Garmin Connect unable to pair Fenix 2 to mobile app

Very frustrated in the Garmin Connect mobile app. I can connect the watch to the phone through bluetooth outside the app, but when i'm in the app and I try to pair up the device, it doesn't connect. The phone senses the watch, but will not make the connection. Always getting a timed out warning. It keeps trying to connect, but no luck. Need help. Shouldn't be this difficult.

    After having a perfect connection since purchasing my F2 4 months ago I now have the same problem. I have reset several times both the watch and removed the connection to my phone but am unable to successfully pair the two and get the app to connect successfully to the phone. Any suggestions welcomed...?

    Further to my post above. I have "forgotten" the device and successfully reconnected it after following the exact steps detailed in the manual. Everything is working perfectly now.
