Garmin Connect Web Activity Loads as 0.00 Distance

Activity Loads as 0.00 Distance

So I uploaded my recent hike, which was 2.5 miles (Pu'u Heleakala), and when uploading the GPX file, it read as 0.00 miles. I uploaded it twice and both times it has read as 0.00 mi. I deleted one of my old tracks, which was 2.8 miles (Mo'ole Valley) to see if it was just that GPX file as the problem, but it was not. I uploaded the same Mo'ole Valley track and the distance read as 0.00 miles. Both show the track of the trail of the trail but show 0.00 miles as the total distance.

I uploaded both GPX files to another site (everytrail) and it read the GPX files and distances correctly.
My Problem

What's wrong?

I don't want to manually put in a distance as the GPX file could probably be read more accurately than my guess...or even everytrails measurements. And I don't want this to be an ongoing thing.

Using "GPS Map 62st"

Same problem with a Colorado 300.
Other tools show the correct distance without any problem.

Same problem with several tracks from etrex 30. They shows fine in basecamp and mtb-mag.com training camp.
It's a very annoying issue.

Same problem for 2 weeks now, uploading tracks generated by my garmin oregon 450: mtb track ranging from 3 to 5 hours show nicely on the map in garmin connect but come with zero or near zero distance.
Ditto when upload same tracks in different softwares and sites, they all show the correct distances.
Any regression bug on the upload/import function?

The way it used to work is that Garmin Connect took the summary data that the device puts into the GPX file and used that as the total distance. It seems to have lost that ability for GPX files in the last week or so. It still works properly with FIT files. Other sites often recompute the distance from the GPS data in the track, but GC doesn't do that. There's not much you can do until they fix GC, when presumably it will show the correct distance again.

I also have an etrex 30 and on December 19th for sure (and I think it was actually Dec 17th) that every activity that I upload shows either .01 mile or .00 miles! It downloads correctly in BaseCamp and MapMyRun!!

Garmin, when will you fix this SUPER ANNOYING BUG?!!?

PLEASE FIX!!

Same problem with a ForeTrex 301, plus all my older activities in Garmin connect seem to be showing zero length trips as well.

Same thing here. Doesn't care if track is uploaded directly from Oregon 600 or if exported from Base Camp.

It's unlikely Garmin will reply here. If you want to be sure they know of the issue, then you have to go to their support website and open an issue either by calling them or going through their email process.

Asking for garmin to help in here is sort of like whispering for the food vendor at a large sporting event.
