I've done my first run yesterday with a Fenix 2 and the HRM-Run monitor. Everything looked gorgeous in Garmin Connect until I realised that data was missing: cadence, vertical oscillation and ground contact time. I understand this is all data that is measured by the HRM-Run monitor. The device apparently worked, otherwise I wouldn't have the heart rate data, too.
I've realised about the problem by checking on someone else's public data posted on this forum (e.g. http://connect.garmin.com/modern/activity/646749307 ).
I've also tried playing with the .fit file. I can see the cadence there but not the rest, and cadence perhaps comes from the watch's own accelerometer, too.
What am I doing wrong? Any advice?
