Steps: missing data in graph?

As you can see underneath, somehow the data concerning daily steps is not synchronized between the first two panels on the left in the garmin connect dashboard. The first panel on the left ('stappen' means 'steps') shows activity of approx 10.000+ steps during the past ten days, everyday. But in the graph on the second panel from the left ("totaal stappen" means " total amount of steps") it seems like no steps have been registered on wednesday, thursday and friday. The daily average as mentioned on the second panel is also lower (8.970) than you would expect based on the first panel (10.000+).

Am I missing something here ?!

  • My wife and I had similar issues for the last week :(

Too bad, Aussie_MB; we like our steps to be properly registered, don't we? ;)
Anyone an idea on how to solve this issue or perhaps bring it to the attention of Garmin's developers?
  • I somehow got it to update ... will see if I can do it again and I'll let you know how.
  • OK, try this.

    1. Log into Garmin Connect
    2. Click on the menu icon (three horizontal bars at the top left of the screen) and select "Steps". It should show your steps for the current day
    3. Scroll back to the 'missing' day(s) by clicking on the "<" icon at the top centre of the screen

Once I did that, it seemed to update my missing steps on the reports screen.

Note: I tried this for my wife and most of the data was recovered but she still has one day missing (13th Dec).
  • Solution to missing Vivofit steps!

Aussie_M8: This is awesome; thank you very much!! This has been an extremely frustrating issue for a while now and you finally provided me with a successful solution! My activity data seemed "missing" for 1 or sometimes 2 days every week since buying the Vivofit, so I was on the verge of returning it even though I love everything else about it.

I've seen a number of different forums where people have this same problem... anyone know if there is a way to elevate this issue to Garmin to produce an official fix and save a lot of people from getting frustrated?
  • Same problem here, fixed with Aussie_M8's hint. I hope someone at Garmin will fix this.
