How to export as GPX in Modern?

Hi, all.

In classic, there's an export function, which lets you export your ride in GPX format which is useful to me.
I can't see how to do this in Modern.

Any help appreciated.

    FOund it.
    Seems broken though.

Anything I try to export causes the browser to spin it's wheel for 30 seconds, 'waiting for Garmin Connect'.
Eventually, it offers to save the file, which is 1k big and contains no track data.

Classic mode currently loads only the summary data, all the other panes ( map, elevation, etc ) are blank.

I think it's just horribly broken at the moment.

In either way thats id the issue im having

Is there a solution ? if not then why would anyone want to create a course using garmin connect ?
  • No problem. :D It is not normal to need to export a course as a GPX file. Typically, you would create the course in GC, then send it to your device using the "send to device" link. That is why you would want to create a course using Garmin Connect.

Nonetheless, if you want to export the course as a GPX file, here's how you can do it:
In GC Modern open the course you want to export as a GPX
    Go to "view details"
Make a note of the course ID number from the web browser's address bar. For example, the 9102846 below is the course ID from one of my courses:https:// connect.garmin.com/modern/course/9102846
Replace the <Course ID> below with a course ID from one of your courses and paste the entire url (with your course ID) into your web browser's address bar
(remove the space after the //)https:// connect.garmin.com/proxy/activity-service-1.1/gpx/course/<Course ID>?full=true
This will download the course to your computer as a GPX file

Thank you i will try that later today
Would this be the same if i replace the "gpx" with "tcx" if i want to get the tcx file
  • No. A TCX file would have additional information such as heart rate and cadence, which your course would not have.
