GPX Activities uploaded no longer have length/distance

Since the Garmin Connect website downtime yesterday (12/19/14), GPX file uploaded as activities no longer interpret the correct mileage length, or associated calculations. Time and elevation appear to be known, but not distance.

Anyone else see this?

Thanks

Same problem here, the last 4 activities came out without length using manual upload or auto upload in the "not modern" garmin connect. But the file are OK.

It's from a foretrex 401. Can you fix this, i'm running out of memory in my device.
  • Garmin Connect: upload crouse .gpx or .tcx

    Hi all,

    I have an issue.
I know that when using activities I can upload .gpx and .tcx files. Those I can convert to a course.
And then I can upload the course to my forerunner 310XT.

When I do this for activities and courses from the past I can do this without any issues. (were created with garmin training center).
When I do this with a newly created activity it fails. I do notice that downloading
a .gpx file from routeyou and other sites the .gpx can't be uploaded. So I have to convert this to a .gpx track.

My gues is that I need to change something in the .gpx file in orde to upload it correctly or that I need to user an other conversion tool.

    Anyone that can help me?

    ATTENTION GARMIN

It would appear that you made a change to your site that has resulted in many, if not everyone experiencing this problem. Please address this problem.

    This is growing very frustrating...
A good intention for this new year could be a much better support for garmin?
  • Say goodbye to GarminConnect, I think that is actually dead for mountaineering GPS devices, they want us to buy a Forerunner or some device like that. Why then they don't allow that kind of devices to show pace information, mean FC, intervals, etc.? The strategy is clear.

Strava? Anyone knows any other webpage of software with which manage tracks?

I have been searching this last days and I have find no-one that convince me. I am looking something more than Garmin Connect allows, some kind of excel (because of all the freedom managing data) but I think that it does not exist. Maybe Excel is the best option, if only there were a quickly way to import the .gpx to excel without converting to .csv and all that stuff...
  • PabloZaldivar,

I feel the same. I am an early Garmin devices user, since the original yellow Etrex for trekking. The strategy of Garmin is very, very bad. Instead of developing modern applications for our performing Android smartphones, they (at Garmin) think that it is better to promote the discrete devices almost dead market. They have a very nice app for Android but no update has been done since nov 2013. It is called Fit but it does not recognize their own devices such as the latest generation of Ant+ bike cadence or speed sensors. Another app should be very usefull for Trekking i.e. Basecamp. Unfortunately, it has never been released for Android. As a result, I have found a very, very usefull for Trekking. It uses all the capabilities of my Samsung Note 4 Phablet. The name is Osmand. Garmin Connect has also very serious challengers (Sportstrackerlive, Strava,...)

For me they are taking the wrong way... I can compare it with the tragic story of Nokia.

    Best regards

Garmin are aware of this and it's being dealt with.
  • I hardly understand the strategy for communicating such a serious bug to the community.
No information on a sticky post informing that they are aware and no into on expected time to fix.
To me this is to important to being let alone for so long time.
