communicator-api temporarily unavailable

I can't use the "old" communicator plugin to upload my activities. When I browse to http://connect.garmin.com/transfer/upload there is the following error in the console:
TypeError: Garmin.DeviceControl is undefined

The reason for this is that the communicator-api is not available. Instead of the javascript code a request to http://connect.garmin.com/resource/communicator-api/1.9.0.4/garmin/device/GarminDeviceControl.js?14.11.0.13 returns the temporarily unavailable html site. When i remove the query parameter (?14.11.0.13), the javascript is returned.

In the modern version the parameter is ?14.11.0.21, but there is no upload site in the modern version.

Please fix this, becaus I use Linux and there is no way to use garmin express for upload.
  • Go to http://connect.garmin.com/modern/activities and click on "Import". You can do a manual import that way.

The plugin got abandoned almost a year ago, and of the major browsers Chrome at least has carried out their threat to drop support for plugins. So I don't know how much longer Garmin intends to keep the plugin working on GC (maybe this is the end), or how much longer the old GC will be kept.
  • Thanks for reply.

It's not the same, because there is no "upload all new activities"-feature, but it works.

I hope there will be a linux version of garmin express, or any other "real" synchronization feature, in the future.
