Can't edit or remove gear

The new Gear function in connect is a very welcome addition. But it seems to be a little rough in the edges still. I cannot remove or edit gear I have entered, does anyone have tip? I've tried removing the widget all together and it changes nothing. I am now stuck with gear (shoes) I can't edit or remove. Any help is welome =)

  • The same here:( I have added few shoes, they all went to OTHER type of gear. Unable to delete, edit, retire it... I wanted to do the same with bikes and swim goggles, but I'm afraid that I will stuck with all of these under OTHER without possibiity to control them then:) Tried under 3 different browsers IE, firefox and chrome with the same effect.
Maybe GARMIN during adding gear will ad also end-date of gear which will allow for automatically adding them to RETIRED....
  • I had the same problem, but when I changed language from Danish to English on the site it worked...

    Rough - yes, but a start :-D

Any news on when the feature is available on the Garmin Connect APP ?

    :-)

Perfect, that made my day. Now I can at least edit the milage, however, I still can't edit a typo in the name of one pair of shoes.
  • TY Thomas, changing language fom French to English did the trick !

I'm not even able to add gear! When I click in the box for Brand/Model, it does not type at all, as if it is a non-editable field....

Edit: I have been able to add a pair of shoes... but it seems to want to "auto-correct" the item's start date from what I entered to something else. So now I have 2 pairs of shoes with the wrong date. I will be removing them both and will not bother with this feature until they iron out the bugs...
  • Now that I succesfully entered several different shoes, another little problem or bug has come to my attention. The gear widget only display the accumulated distance for one of my shoes. The rest doesn't show mileage at all, not even when I click on one of the other shoes. The gear widget would greatly improve usability if it were able to display more gear items and the accumulated distance for each. I've six pairs of running shoes in my current rotation, tracking mileage on all would be a treat.
  • One can add a seperate widget for each pair of shoes.
  • I have just experimented a bit with the gear by adding my bikes. I ignored the "First Use" field when setting things up and it defaulted to the day I created it (today for 2 bikes, Saturday for the other). Now it only makes those bikes available to add to an activity if they occurred after the "first use" date. So I would like to be able to go back and edit the first use date but it is locked from editing. I guess I can delete the bikes and recreate them with a new first use date, but it would be easier to just unlock this field.
  • How can one add in a Gear/Shoe that already has miles on it? Seems like it all setup to track from square one, or am I missing something? Otherwise I might as well stick with ST, since that is where I started my tracking of shoe mileage.
