Impossible to Sync with MyFitnessPal

Hello,

I´m surprised on how difficult it has been to link Garmin&MyFitnessPal....

1- If o go to MFP account and click APP/Connect(Garmin) it takes me to Garmin Connect web, but stays there, blue screen, doing nothing.
2- If i try to do it from garmin/Calories/Sync Now..... It says it did it, but actually did not sync at all....
3- Web? Google? HEre?.... No specific response, instead, several users with same issue.

Is there any solution so far? I mean..... i gave up already!.... Will i need to use another 3rd party app to link garming and then link to MFP? come on.....

Thanks in advance...

Other than outages at MFP or GC, I've had no problem syncing since the first day this connection was available. Go to the"calorie in/out widget on the GC website, and disconnect from MFP, then re-connect (disconnect is at the bottom when you go to "full page" on the widget.

I notice that MFP has not been syncing with GCM today. This is happening way too frequently. If you can go to the Garmin Connect website you can click the Sync Now link and sync it manually.

Perhaps Garmin should add a "Sync Now" button to GCM, since it seems that the automatic sync "every 5 minutes" is so unreliable.
  • I too have problems. All synching from MFP onto Connect strips the distance and rounds up the time to the nearest minute. The result is that I have corrupted data on my calendar.
  • I had been connecting MFP (MyFitnessPal.com) with GC (Garmin Connect) very successfully for several months until about 3 weeks ago (2014-11-28) when GC forgot that it was connected to MFP; although, MFP still thinks it can connect to GC but, in fact, cannot/does not connect because GC dropped the connection.

I, too, saw that several others had complained on these forums about the same issue; but, it seems that no one at Garmin looks for issues on their own forums or, even, cares that they are providing poor service. And, it appears that there is not a simple solution that users can apply to remedy the disconnect...either between users and Garmin or between online applications (like MFP) and GC. <sigh, a good example of "Customer No Service">

The problems that were occurring for a couple weeks (a few weeks back) were actually on MFP's end, as they broke syncing not only with GC, but Fitbit, Withings, and a couple over vendors. If you are having problems, don't forget to check http://myfitnesspal.desk.com
  • It seems to be broken again. I can't get the most recent calorie adjustment data to go to MFP since around 5pm UK time on Thursday.

    Very frustrating.

I am having the same issue. Neither my Vivosmart steps nor my Forerunner 910XT data is transferring to MFP. I emailed both garmin and MFP at [email protected] and [email protected] giving them all the data I have seen so far. Please make sure to email both of them with the exact problems. One issue that I think is a causal factor is that Garmin Connect and my Vivosmart had a software upgrade yesterday at about 1330 EST (R - Time zone) and ever since then nothing has been sent MFP from GC. I am still able to get my caloric intake from MFP to synch to GC but only via a computer (I have never been able to get the app to synch calories from MFP and I don't think anyone cares seeing that I have brought it up several times and never received any help). Keep pestering them. If anyone finds a solution please post it and also let me know if there is a different company that does similar work like these two please. I may be switching and getting rid of both of these because of the repeated issues.

    No one assumes the problem

It is strange cause I received a message from MFP support that says that the problem is beeing analysed by both companies.

  • It's now been resolved, but as stated mfp also broke at the same time with various other websites etc ... draw your own conclusions.
