620 randomly freezing at completion of laps

My 620 (using the latest available firmware) started randomly freezing at the exact moment a km lap is completed.
It has occurred twice in one week. First time at 8 km; second time at 2km. (battery levels was ok)
You look at the watch and the data screen is there, but nothing is moving and the watch is not responsive to any command.
It will shut off with a long press of the top left button. After turning it back on it asks you to save the activity. When you start a new activity it takes a long time to lock on GPS, like it is getting a fix from the first time in the area.

I wonder if that is a common problem and what can be done to avoid it.
One lock out of 1000 activities might be acceptable, but not two in a week. During training you may let it go, but if that happens during a race

You're not alone. Happened to me today. Exactly 9.00km. Turned off and on and saved activity (or what it had recorded before it froze). When uploaded and played, looks like there was a corruption just after 8k as just after 8k the time jumps forwards by ~5 minutes and when the play gets to the 9k mark it immediately jumps back to the 8k mark and repeats from there to the 9k. On the map, I can see that the section from 8k to 9k has two lines on it (and I just ran a straight line).

Plenty of charge in the watch and on latest firmware (3.10).
