Garmin Communicator Plugin was not found on your computer.

This is getting old! I have downloaded as instructed by Garmin, multiple times. Turned off computer, rebooted, etc, etc, and it still gives me the same thing that I need to download the plugin when I try upload /connect my Fennix. So what am I doing wrong? This use to be the problem when I tried the Modern version, so switched back to classic version to do uploads. Well now the classic doesn't work anymore either.

    What browser are you using? Newer ones can block plug-ins from running (they should display a prompt).

    Also I think support for plug-ins either has or is being removed from Google Chrome and other browsers I think.

    Just tried it with Safari and it works. Never crossed my mind to try different browser, I'm kind of a computer idiot. I just expect/want things to plug in and work. Every time I do an update, nothing works afterwards for me. I think it's the plug in being blocked on Chrome as you mentioned, just not sure how to turn it off. So will use Safari in the future when using Garmin, thanks for the tip.

  • I have tried the modern version and the old version, Chrome, IE and Firefox on a Windows 8 and Window 7 computer and nothing works to upload my Forerunner 305. Express tells me the 305 has synched, but when I go to the Activities list nothing new show up. If I try to upload directly from the Garmin Connect web page, it tells me the I need to download the plugin. When I try to download the plugin, it tells me the plugin is incompatible with my browser, no matter which browser I use or whether it's Windows 7 or 8. This has happened with IE for a long time, and I would go to Firefox or Chrome to get an upload, but now those don't work either. I'm using a Garmin Edge 510 for my bicycling and the only way I've been able to get it to upload is though Garmin Express.

    I've been using Garmin products for many years and uploading has been getting more and more difficult. Things that used to work don't and for the last couple of years I've often had to try a number of different approaches until the mud finally sticks to the wall. Now, for the Forerunner at least, nothing is sticking to the wall.

    Anyone have any ideas?
