Corrupt .FIT File? 920XT

Hi Guys, I have just started using a new 920XT and initially it was syncing with Garmin Connect but then I started continually getting a sync error.
After reading other post I worked out I had a corrupt .fit file. I ended removing the corrupt file form my device and everything is now working again correctly.

I am now trying to repair the corrupt file. I have tried using the Autofix function on http://garmin.kiesewetter.nl/ . This goes thru the process and creates the "fixed" file, however I still cannot upload it, I get an error as shown in the attached screen shot.

I have also attached my original .fit file. I am hoping someone may be able to have a look at it for ma and tell me what the problem may be or fix it for me?

Any help would be appreciated, thanks guys...

    hi Matt,

I ran your file through the Fit File Repair Tool and it didn't find any issues with it. FFRT may be subtly fixing something in the background as it is loading and checking the file though. I have been able to successfully upload it to GC.

    Give this file a try.

    cheers

Can you help me with my file? I keep having problems with it uploading to strava. it seemed to have recorded my milage and splits but no elevation data perhaps for part of it? I can't get the FFRT to work quite right, I'm a new user.

    hi Sophia,

Your issue has been 'resolved' in the Edge800 thread you posted in.

Please don't double post in the threads about the same issue - it makes it confusing for those of us trying to assist. :)

    cheers

Hi guys. I am a brand new garmin user having received a 920xt for christmas and also seem to be having similar issues syncing a file to garmin connect. I had no issues after going for a few runs and cycles but my latest activity, a paddle in my surf-ski, refuses to sync. I had created an "other" activity which was called paddling on the garmin so not sure if that caused the problems or not. I also tried the Autofix function on http://garmin.kiesewetter.nl/ but with no luck. The file is attached if anyone can give me a hand or provide any advice.

Sorry - should also point out that I just tried uploading the file manually to strava and had no issues but cannot get it to sync to garmin. Maybe the strava software is just much better.

Thanks so much for the quick reply Mike. The file you re-attached worked perfectly so no idea what caused the problem but thanks nonetheless.

Hi, I have also had issues with "undefined error" when uploading. I concluded the following. The basic built-in profiles running, cycling, swimming work and have probably been used and tested a lot but when you create new profile using "other" and for instance the "ski icon" then FIT files get created on 920xt that fail to upload to Garmin Connect (both to mobile app and the website) BUT the FIT files can be exported (using the mass storage on the device and just pulling out the FIT files) and converting to TCX/GPX uploaded to other sites than Garmin Connect. File repair tools do not help as far as I have been able to test. I have been able to convert to GPX and upload to Garmin Connect but converting to TCX does not result in a file I am able to upload. I reported the issue to Garmin via "device support". I think it is being fixed either with firmware update or a fix to Garmin Connect. /Richard

    Hi:
I tried to upload today's running file to GC, but it gave me an error. The curious thing is that the file has been magically uploaded in to Training Peaks (I have authorized TP to read from GC). So, how is it possible that CG will not upload the file from the FR920XT and TP already has the file perfectly uploaded?
    Thank you,
    Antonio.
  • Can someone help me fix this corrupt file from my 920? It uploads to Training Peaks but not to GC. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
