Export Heart Rate data to Excel & add data to stats

I would like to have the capability to export my Heart Rate data to Excel.

Also consider the possibility to add data to heart rate stats like,

how much time the heart rate stayed in specific zone of HRR or HRmax (this option choosen by me) during an activity.

example of a 63 minute activity:

ZONES TIME %
------------------------------------------
Zone 1 (60-65%): 30 min ----> 48%
Zone 2 (65-75%): 10 min ----> 16%
Zone 3 (75-82%): 8 min ----> 13%
Zone 4 (82-89%): 7 min ----> 11%
Zone 5 (89-94%): 5 min ----> 8%
Zone 6 (94-100%: 3 min ----> 5%
  • You should be able to do this by exporting a tcx for your activity and then processing the xml data. You might be able to write an xslt to summarize the data instead of dumping it into excel first.

    Thanks Travis,

    I export a tcx file to excel and did my stats (fig.1)

    fig.1

    If it is possible I would like these stats to automate calculated in my Garmin Express.

    Also I noticed that the stats from the tcx file are not too much accurate if we consider that in my 2:56:30 Time activity (10590 sec) the tcx file only contains 3160 sec data. That means that the stats are calculated from the 30% of any activity. The rest 70% of activity is missing. You can figure if you look at (fig.2) below...

  • You'll probably have to enable the option to record data every second so that your post processing will work.

    I don't think that there is such an option but if there is can you inform me where can I find it?

    Thanks
  • It depends on the device you are using. On a 910XT, it is in Mode > Settings > System > Data Recording.
