Y axis scaling in new Connect

Hi, please can someone tell me how to set the y axis scale in graphs on the new connect web site? The old one used to auto scale reasonably effectively, the new one just seems to stay zoomed right out and is therefore completely useless in the situation where the range of measurements is quite small - for example heart rate during a slow recovery ride. I'm assuming there's a setting somewhere - unless Garmin's intention has been to make it completely useless:eek: - but I can't find it.

thanks,
Martin
  • OK, so no response from anyone at Garmin, and no other sensible support mechanism, which I take to mean either 'yes we intentionally made it useless' or 'we made it useless by accident but can't be bothered to fix it so we're not going to respond'.

Next time I buy a Garmin device, I won't bother. Bye.
  • This forum isn't doesn't see any traffic from the folks at Garmin. These forums are, for the most part, a place for users to gather and communicate. There are a few areas where Garmin support is active, but this is not one of them.

That said, you can use the mouse to zoom in on a particular area if you need to. It doesn't necessarily fix the scaling issues, but it may help. Additionally, you can click the little double-arrow icon near the top-right corner of the graph to get a better view of the data. The scaling seems to be more reasonable there than what you see in the activity details view.

  • Thanks Travis, however it looks like you can only zoom on the x-axis, and popping it out makes it bigger but doesn't change the scale. The graphs on the old connect were useful, on the new one they're less functional and less useful. I'm really dissapointed in Garmin, the old Connect was OK but now it looks like they've employed a bunch of developers with very little domain knowledge to fiddle with it, with either didn't check to see if it was any good or didn't care. Graphs where the axes cannot be set appropriately are useless.

It really cheeses me off when things get dumbed down in a pointless redesign.
  • it is really annoying, I have noticed that a few days ago and I don't know when Garmin made this "improvement". This way my elevation and heart rate graphs become useless :(
