Is there a way to turn off the map and pace on Facebook shares?

Hi all,

Most of my runs originate and end at my front door. I love to share my running on FB however, don't know that I am as excited about providing a map to my front door. Is there a way to turn off the map when I share on Facebook?

On a similar note, is there a way to turn off the pace information on my FB shares?

Thanks in advance.
  • The answer to both questions is no. If you don't want people to know your pace, then you can't give them both distance and time either. At some point you don't really want anyone to see what you've done, you just want to tell them you did something, and in that case just posting that you've gone for a run would do that.

  • I cannot understand this concern about obscuring the start point of activities from home. Given the ubiquity of mapping software these days, there's any number of ways our addresses can be tracked and the house viewed. What is so special about activities starting from outside your house all the time? What do they tell people other than that you have a GPS enabled device and that you workout frequently?

  • Strava lets you obscure your home location on the map. Not sure about how sharing is handled on Strava.

However IMHO, it's only a false security to hide that. What is the point?
