Segment not recognised

I created a segment on Saturday, and passed thru it on Sunday for a second time but it has not been recognised on the Sunday ride upload - anyone suggest why not ?.
  • I've have running segments that have taken many hours to show for an activity. It seems the Garmin Severes were busy looking to match other folks sections.

Also, with running segments at least, if you're not close to the segment you might not get is. Case in point, I set up a segment that ended up crossing a 4 lane (divided) road where I crossed the road at the closest corner to the rest of the course. The next day, doing the same route, but I crossed the street a block earlier, as there was a break in traffic. Garmin didn't consider it the same segment.

Make sure the activity setting is made public. If it is private, it will not show up on the list. I had the same problem.
  • I've had it take hours for a segment to be acknowledge. Segments seem to be far more popular than Garmin thought, and sometimes the server(s) managing them get bogged down.

For clarification, is it the activity of the individual or the segment that needs to be made public. I figured this was the issue but i'm just getting around to researching it. I've crossed one of my segments several times since I created it and in never shows up.
