Multiple issues using 310XT for kayak racing. Grrrr.

If I were a Garmin beta tester I would understand some of the failings I am finding with Connect. But I'm not, so I will just complain about them and hope Garmin remedies these problems before I throw my 310XT over a bridge.

1) The ANT Agent automated upload function on my PC defaults to "pair with new devices disabled." I don't have new devices --- I always use the same one. So why so I have to reset the pairing 75% of the time to "enabled"? Why do I even need to look at the pairing status when I upload from the same device 3-4x a week?

2) if I open Connect from a browser and sign in, it tells me no device is recognized even though my device is sitting 3 inches from the ANT and is plugged into the recharger. Why?

3) I raced in a kayak race yesterday and when I download my data all I want to see is my speed at various times on the course, max speed, and duration of the race. Why can't I reset all my views to show speed instead of having to switch from the default "pace" every single view? And why can't I eliminate the "elevation" view altogether since I always paddle at sea level?

4) Some random EMF at the starting line registered a speed of 120 mph, so that was my max speed for the race. Not useful at all. Also not visible until I got home and downloaded, when it was too late to start another lap. Why can't I go into my data and create a split or a lap to get the erroneous speed out of the records? This happens more than once monthly BTW.

5) having 120 mph on the vertical axis of my speed chart also completely screwed up the view of my race speeds, because I was going under 10mph. My race record now shows as a thin little jaggedy blue stripe at the bottom of the chart, completely unreadable even when enlarged to full screen.

If this was the first time I had all of the above problems I would be more patient. But I have been a Garmin user for more than a decade, and have used several different products in the evolution of your 301-5-10 series, and Connect is the worst analytical tool yet. Given all the bugs with Connect I don't dare download Express. -- Susan

PS: If I download to TCX or GPX can I dump the 120mph speed spike? And then can I "replace" my race data in Connect with the edited file?
