This may be a mixed bag of issues that seem all related to me, so... All I want to do is re-send or re-Transfer a few individual activities from my watch to Garmin Connect. Activities that were already transferred once, but were deleted from GC, but still remain on my watch.
The Garmin 910 has a 'Transfer All' feature (which I assume other models have) that apparently is supposed to send/transfer workouts to GC that may not have sent/Transferred or you need to re-send to GC (I found directions thru the GC site with step by step directions of how to re-transfer workouts). However, I have tried in a variety of unsuccessful ways to re-send workouts that I did Oct 31 thru Nov 2, 2014 back to GC (these are workouts that I deleted from GC a couple days after they Transferred to GC in an attempt to correct the issue that was going on over the weekend with workouts not going from GC to other sites like Strava, Sporttracks, etc; I use Sporttracks). They just won't transfer/re-send back to GC. It appears that Garmin Express does not retain workouts after they go to GC (that I am aware of) so I thought by going into the Classic side of GC I could select them and send them. That's not happening because only workouts prior to Express (I went to express on May 19, 2014) are in Classic. The classic site has all workouts pre-May 19--even the deleted ones are there so if you were to accidentally delete a workout you could un-delete it and move it into GC again. That is not possible (I don't think) with Express because workouts/activities aren't there once they upload thru Express and drop into GC. PLEASE correct me if I am wrong about that. What's odd is why don't deleted workouts from GC which are still on your watch go back to GC when it (Express) detects that it needs to Transfer a workout (like when you create a dummy 5 second activity to make it go into Transfer mode). If it Express knows workouts are there on your watch that are not in GC why doesn't it take them again. I suppose that Express KNOWS that it already took them once and moved dropped them into GC. Its GC that they were deleted from. However, if that's the case then why doesn't Express keep a history of what it pulled from your watch and moved to GC? If it knows it took them, why not keep them like they were kept in Classic GC (which didn't use Express, but used Ant agent or communicator--I may be messing up the terms as I can't keep them straight). Wouldn't it make more sense have Express keep a history so the user can know what was pulled/transferred? Also, wouldn't it make more sense if you had to delete them from GC and from your watch if you really want them gone? Back to the re-sending topic--when you go to History then go to delete an activity from your watch it asks if you want to delete All or delete Individual, Old Activities, or All Totals. That's a great feature so why doesn't that same line of thinking apply to an individual workout that you want to Transfer from your watch to GC? They have a Transfer All, but no 'Transfer This Activity'. Even if Express won't retake it shouldn't there be a "Force Send" from watch to make Express transfer/accept it again???
FYI: I've tried to find the workouts on my PC and can't locate them. I'm not very techi-like when it comes to that--that's why I want to just rely on my data going to my watch to GC then to another site for storage and review. Another thread said Express does not retain history, but your computer should store them, but no luck there.
