Hi.
I just received my 310XT and ran my first run and I immediately have problems with few things:
1) Personal records. Why do I need to run 1km to get 1km personal record? I just ran 8 times 1km - that is 8 possible 1km personal best times. Those could be picked up from longer distances.
2) Possibility to add custom personal best distances. That should not be too hard to do. I used to run 2 miles a lot in the army and 15 years later I would like to compare my times to those old records.
3) I created workouts last night and those were synced into watch. When I went out for a run though, I forgot to pick up the workout from schedule and I just hit the "start" button on my watch. I now have activity in my log but it is not tied to my work out. I'm not sure if it should be but it somehow feels like it should. It feels like there are 2 objects in connect, that are doing the same thing - workout and activity. Why? Why cant I schedule an activity and have to schedule workout instead... This looks like it is VERY unnecessary.
4) There is badges page, which links to personal records page instead. It looks like you have tried to add gamification (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gamification) to Connect, but have done incomplete job. Remove the page or finish it, is my suggestion. If there are badges/achievements, it should be possible to see, which are the badges I could get.
5) Sleep. There is sleep page, but I can't add anything there manually. Why? I can add activities manually - something that goes against the whole point of having garmin device, but I cannot add sleep... I have to sync it some somewhere.... That is one major Homer Simpson DOH moment.
All in all, it seems I will probably not continue to use connect for anything and will use Endomondo instead. Why - less unnecessary and half implemented stuff. Your device and HR monitor are both awesome widgets, but this web app looses in both usability and usefulness to Endomondo.
Alan
PS. I am aware that some of the features written here are not implemented in Endomondo (points 2, 4, 5) but to be honest - having half completed stuff is worse than not having them at all. Less clutter, you know.
