Merge FIT Files

Can there be an official method of merging FIT files?

Pretty frustrating that there's no way of uploading two FIT files, selecting a MERGE option and things just working.

As a Fenix user, it's really easy to accidentally switch of GPS by fumbling with buttons. Then turn it on... only to find that the Garmin unit recorded it as two separate workouts.

There are some tools that have been developed by third parties which get mixed results, but these are unofficial and platform specific. This should be a GARMIN option built into CONNECT.

Please add this as a feature.

Until Garmin does implement your request, the Fit File Repair Tool does a great job of combining FIT files.
It can make a continuous track or make each piece into separate laps or make each piece into a new session as a new sport aka a Multisport file.
