Vivofit + Forerunner 610 - Active Calories

Hi. I use a Forerunner 610 to track my runs and I recently purchased a Vivofit to track steps.

  • Is it intended for both a FR610 and VF to be worn when running (or can it be done without having issues arise)?

I notice they both sync to the same HRM. If I sync both devices after a run, two activities are created however I did notice one instance where the Vivofit activity was not created:

  • Does Garmin attempt to check if the Vivofit would create a duplicate and avoid that if a match is found i.e. if I upload FR610 well before syncing the VF?

Where two activities are created, I would delete the Vivofit activity to prevent duplicate data. However, while the Reports section correctly adjusts the Active Calories, the Active Calories displayed in the Calories In/Out section (I sync to MFP) does not remove the duplicate calorie data after deletion.

  • Is it a bug that the Reports and Calories In/Out display different data for Active Calories and can this be corrected?

Thanks for any assistance on best practice for using both these devices together.
