I have repeatedly encountered a problem where NUVI's route navigation directs me to local roads with traffic lights rather than to main highways. Once, NUVI put me on a local road with traffic lights every mile or so that seemed, to NUVI, to be quicker than my expected route on NJ's Garden Sate Parkway. I think the problem is that NUVI does not allow for time spent stopped at traffic lights.
I have looked in NUVI's automobile routing preferences and there is no way to indicate a preference for highways over roads with traffic lights.
I wish Garmin would either allow for estimated time spent stopped at traffic lights or give users the opportunity to indicate their preference for highways over local roads with traffic lights.
If I am wrong about this I would appreciate comments on how to avoid the frustrating and time-delaying traffic light routing I am experiencing.
