Modern Garmin Connect "Player" -- Lost feature for times at specific distances

So the Player tab has been removed and is now apart of the main screen with just a play button. I like this and is fine.

However, a feature got lost: the ability to find the specific cumulative time for a specific distance.

For example, I ran 6.2 miles. Sometimes, I like to see what the time was for 3.1 or even 3.5, etc.

In the old days, I'd use the Player tab and just skip to that distance. Then it would show the current cumulative time at that specific player position.

Now, I haven't found anyway to do this, except to either:

1.) Add up 1 mile splits and then estimate the fractions, so add the 3 mile splits and then estimate 30-40secs for the additional 0.1.
2.) Do a manual lap at 3.1, but sometimes I might want to know something obscure later (like I wonder how fast I went total on this hill; back in the old way, I could just subtract the time at position X from position Y.)
3.) Use classic mode, but this will eventually fade out.

Is there a way to do this? If not, please add this feature back in: to just show the current cumulative time at the current player position when displaying distance (like in my example, how do I determine the cumulative time at 3.1mi or 3.5mi?)

Thanks

To better illustrate what I mean, I'm providing screenshots....

When I select distance, I can see that I am at 3.17mi, but I do not know the current cumulative time here. Is it 24min? I don't know.

When I select time, I can see that I am at 21:45, but what distance is this? I don't know.

In the old way, I can see clearly that I ran the first 3.17mi in 24:25:

    Thanks

I agree. This feature is a must and should be added back.
  • Just adding my voice here. Had to use other software to see my 10 mile time during a half marathon yesterday.

I like Garmin Connect for the integration with the Forerunner 620 e.g. WiFi upload (it works for me) etc. However, Sporttracks is something else I've used and it's a lot more helpful with the analysis side of things.

Dropping useful features when changes are made seems to suggest that use cases aren't well documented on the development side.

The player feature is still available but you no longer have to leave the main activity analysis window to use it. Simply click the play arrow on the main map - tracking bars also appear on the graphs below the map.

Huh? Playing is not the problem here. I have no problem with this.

The problem is seeing the distance and time at the same time at a certain position while playing.

Sorry - I missed the point of the original post. It would, indeed, be good to seen time and distance data simultaneously.

I agree, this was a very useful feature and would like it back as well. Just figured out that you can switch to classic view temporarily and look at an activity like before to get distance and time with player.
