Garmin no longer recognised

I can no longer get my computer using Garmin or Garmin express to recognise my Garmin Forerunner 10 watch. It has worked brilliantly for 9 months, up to now. It recognises that there is something there, but asks me to format the drive/disc. Garmin Express asks for a device to be plugged in, it whirrs rounds and says no device found. Please help I am getting extremely frustrated..
  • U can start with a master reset, keep in mind your losing all activitys u did not sync with your account.

    By doing this reset, all user information, workout history, and satellite data will be erased.

    To reset the device:


    • Power off watch (press and hold Light, device will count down and shut off)
    • Press and hold Enter (top right) and Down button (bottom right)
    • Press and release Light button to power device back on
    • Release Enter after first beep
    • Release Down button after second beep

    The reset on the Forerunner 10 is successful if the device finishes powering up and goes to the setup wizard. Try the steps again if the setup wizard does not appear.
    Leave the device outside with a clear view of the sky for a minimum of 20 minutes to acquire satellite data.
