Show average pulse of marked selection

Greetings,

I would like to know if it is possible to show the average heart rate on a selected area of the workout. Like, if I select three quarters of my run, I would like to see the average bpm of that portion of the workout only. I tried marking, but the site doesn't recalculate the average bpm - it still shows the average of the full workout.

I am one of those who have the occasional error where the heart rate monitor indicates way too high values at the start of the workout, and then reverts to the right measurement after a while.

Does anyone know if this is possible?

Best regards
  • Without exporting the data and looking/modifying it with some other software, I believe that the closest thing you can do is to use the auto-lap feature and then look at the average heart rate for each lap.

I think it would be a rather easy thing to implement on Garmin Connect though, since selecting a specific portion of the workout is already possible. I hope the feature will come in the future. Using auto-lap would be a functioning workaround, but would require me to keep checking the watch and heart rate at the beginning of the workout. That is something I would rather not do, I want to analyze the workout when its done.

Edit: I just realized you wrote auto-lap. That could work I guess, but I do a few interval session each week where I manually need to use the lap function and I would probably forget to toggle it on and off. I'll just wait for the feature on the site :)
